Phytosanitary & Plant Quarantine

What is a Phytosanitary Certificate?

A phytosanitary certificate is an official document issued by India’s National Plant Protection Organisation (NPPO) – the Plant Quarantine Division under DPPQ&S – confirming that plant material has been inspected and is free from regulated pests and diseases as required by the importing country.

Processing Time

Phytosanitary certificate processing typically takes 3–7 working days after inspection. We factor this into all export lead times.

Plant Quarantine Inspection

All live plant exports are subject to physical inspection by Plant Quarantine officers. Plants must be free from soil (bare-root or growing media only), pests, and diseases.
