Aamalakaasavam – Classical Ayurvedic Fermented Amla Tonic | 450ml

Aamalakaasavam is a classical Ayurvedic fermented preparation (asava) referenced in Ashtanga Hrudayam, prepared from the fresh juice of Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis / Amalaki). Unlike many Ayurvedic preparations, the Amalaki juice is used without any heating process, preserving its natural Vitamin C content and making this one of the few Ayurvedic formulations that retains the full antioxidant potency of fresh Amla.

The fermentation process, combined with turmeric powder and honey, creates a bioavailable tonic that is traditionally described as astringent, tonic, and antioxidant in action. It is classically indicated for diabetes, excessive thirst, and general weakness, and is widely used as a daily wellness tonic to support immunity, digestion, and metabolic balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Why is Aamalakaasavam considered a rich source of Vitamin C?
The Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry) juice used in this preparation is processed without any heating. Heat destroys Vitamin C, so the cold-processing method preserves the natural ascorbic acid content of fresh Amla, making this one of the few Ayurvedic preparations that retains this benefit.

Q2. Can diabetics take Aamalakaasavam?
Diabetes (Prameha) is one of the classical indications for this formulation. However, individuals with diabetes should use this product only under the supervision of a qualified Ayurvedic physician, as it contains honey and individual responses may vary.

Q3. How long should I take this tonic?
Duration of use should be determined by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner based on your constitution and health status. Do not self-medicate for extended periods without professional guidance.

Q4. Is Aamalakaasavam safe during pregnancy?
Pregnant or nursing women should consult a qualified Ayurvedic physician before use. Do not self-administer during pregnancy.
