Raasnaadi Kashayam is a classical Ayurvedic herbal decoction (kashayam) referenced in Sahasrayogam. Named after its primary herb Rasna (Alpinia galanga) — one of Ayurveda's foremost Vata-pacifying and anti-inflammatory herbs — this 14-herb formulation is specifically indicated for Vatashonitam and joint-related Vata disorders characterised by pain and swelling across multiple joints and body regions.

Indications (Traditional Use)

• Vatashonitam / Vatarakta (joint inflammation with Vata and blood vitiation)
• Aches and swelling at the ankles
• Pain and swelling at the triceps / upper arm region
• Knee pain and swelling
• Thigh pain and swelling
• Waist / lower back pain
• Pain and stiffness at the back of the neck

Dosage

15–30 ml diluted with equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice daily before meals, or as directed by a qualified Ayurvedic physician.
